Customer Review: Disposable - Junk
I purchased this trimmer new 2.5 years ago, and from the second time I used it, it has had difficulty starting. It takes many pulls, and then has to run in choke mode for many minutes before it decides it is able to crank up without stalling. Many times it never gets that far. Now the orange start (choke) switch has cracked. The trimmer has never been dropped or mishandled. Ryobi's answer is (and I quote - Shaina at Ryobi customer service): "It is normal for a part required to run the device to fail after 2 and a half years of normal use." Of course, it had a 2 year warranty and they do not sell just the plastic switch - they want me to buy a new carb assembly. Gee, it's only $45 plus S&H. This is the second Ryobi string trimmer I've owned that has failed in under 3 years of normal residential use.
Customer Review: string loading
Hi the string loading is pretty easy, but there is a trick. You have to have two pieces and go into it from the sides of the trimmer after lining up the arrows, then lock each string into the two wholes provided then simply turn the spool to to feed the line in. I have had my trimmer for 8 years and it has preformed flawlessly..
